Q: Who participates in the STEADY Study. Just me, or both me and my child?

Q: I'm interested in the STEADY Study. What does the research study involve?
A: To determine if you would make a good fit for this research study, the research study involves a phone screener and a clinical intake visit. If you are determined to be eligible to participate, the study includes four videotaped assessment sessions (about 4 hours each) spaced approximately 4 months apart that will include:
Interviews, questionnaires, and interactive tasks
Your child completing several tasks related to his/her attention, control, emotions, and waiting skill
You and your child wearing a recording device to collect data on heart rate
Additionally, some eligible mothers will be randomly assigned to receive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Training. For more information on DBT, check out our DBT Skills Training page.
Q: Will I be compensated for my participation in this research study?
A: Yes, compensation is provided.
